Solent NHS Trust are working collaboratively with Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust to recruit two apprentices working across either of their sites. Please indicate in your personal statement whether you have a preference of which Trust you would like to be considered for. Applicants will be interviewed jointly by Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and a decision regarding work base will be made upon successful application and interview.
Main duties of the job
This opportunity provides a 4-year apprenticeship learning programme with either a mechanical or electrical primary bias, graduating ultimately at NVQ 3 level with supporting BTEC technical certification. Upon completion you will achieve estate specialist technician competencies in a multi-disciplinary maintenance role with skills and knowledge transferrable across the entire NHS.
The apprenticeship will cover a variety of established engineering and building maintenance techniques used across the existing estate but will also adopt innovation and current thinking as the NHS works to align with its 2040 Net Zero Carbon target threshold.
