Our Special Care Dental Service provide treatment to adults and children with a variety of needs including, learning and physical disabilities, dental anxiety and developmental disorders. Care will predominantly be carried out in our clinics but where possible, we will go out into community settings to ensure the patients comfort.
Working with us at our clinic in Cowes, Isle of Wight you will learn general administration skills whilst working with our business support and clinical teams with telephone queries, appointment bookings, ensuring our systems are kept up to date and providing positive customer service to any visitors to the team. Working days are Monday-Friday with hours to be discussed at the interview. As this is an apprenticeship, full time hours are needed to fulfil the requirements of the qualification.
After studying and learning on the job, you will qualify after 15 months with a Level 2 in Customer Service with the chance to apply for a permanent position within the service should you wish.

Main duties of the job
Word processing of correspondence eg. letters, reports, forms, tables, agendas, minutes & presentation material using appropriate I.T. packages
To send letters & compose routine basic letters within sphere of responsibility.
To use Trust email & intranet systems as required
Answer daily enquiries made over the phone & in person, taking accurate messages. Ensuring messages are prioritised & passed on to the most appropriate person
To ensure that post is collected & distributed in accordance with local team agreement
Liaise with others on matters agreed within sphere of responsibility. On occasions may have to exchange confidential & sensitive information to team members
To maintain high standards of customer service by responding in a helpful & friendly manner to all interactions with colleagues, service users & other professionals
