Join us as an Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor to support individuals with advice, exercise, self-management and treatment interventions.

The Musculoskeletal Service (MSK) Service provides MSK assessment and treatment for patients presenting with a MSK presentation. The service operates from key hub sites and other community settings where we have a Specialist MSK Service managing those patients that require diagnostics or onward referral.

The MSK Service manages self-referral, GP and consultant referrals and within the wider MSK Service there is also Adolescent MSK, Pelvic Health and Hydrotherapy. The MSK Service has close links with Persistent Pain Service. Chronic Fatigue and Podiatry.

Main duties of the job

To implement rehabilitation programmes for individual patients and groups as advocated by Physiotherapists.

Assist and conduct rehabilitation classes under the guidance of the Physiotherapy team.

Supervise and progress individual patient's rehabilitation programmes ensuring patient compliance with goal setting, under the guidance of the Physiotherapists.

To design exercise programmes, to include home exercise programmes for patient groups or individuals.

To be able to lead and demonstrate sport specific activities to patients to a high degree of skill and physical fitness.

To provide basic health screening/fitness evaluations of staff and patients.

To check and document objective markers of patients being supervised throughout treatment.

To be involved with health promotion and fitness incentive schemes for staff and patients.

To contribute and develop both policies and procedures for the use of the gym and rehabilitation protocols.

Responsible for ensuring policy and procedures are adhered to by staff within the gym

  • B.A. / B.Sc. Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning or equivalent.
  • Y.M.C.A / RSA Fitness Instructor or equivalent

Experience
