Job summary

Do you want to earn while you learn?

We are looking for Digital Marketing Apprentice to join our Learning and Development team. In this varied role you will be using a variety of platforms to raise the profile and promote our apprenticeships, leadership and management offerings and our learning systems both internally and externally.

We will put you through your Digital Marketing Level 3 Apprenticeship with one of our training providers. You will be allocated 20% off the job training to study and upskill during working week.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who organised, has good communications both verbal and written, able to work as part of a team and independently who is also keen to learn new skills and knowledge.

A large part of this role will using our social media channels creating content for them. We are looking for someone who is creative and has good IT skills.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The Communications Assistant will work as part of the Apprenticeship Team and Communications Team to support communication activities across Learning and Development, fulfilling the core team functions as required.

Under the direction of the Digital Communications Lead/Apprenticeship Manager, the post holder will have specific responsibility for the day-to-day oversight of the apprenticeship/L&D content on internal and external websites and the Trust's social media channels.

They will also assist in developing communications including creating and editing content and will have responsibility for creating digital communications including e-newsletters, social media posts and videos.

The Communications Assistant will regularly liaise between services and third-party providers.

The role will involve some evening and weekend work.

Specific responsibilities:

Responding to emails, which come into the L&D inbox/ Apprenticeship inbox regarding communications and marketing.

Assisting where required, the Press and Communications Managers/Apprenticeship Managers with the handling of media enquiries.

Designing and writing employee communications such as Staff News and Managers' Matters and working with the Digital Communications Lead/Apprenticeship Manager to develop employee communication content and channels.

Supporting the Trust's Communication/Apprenticeship Champions Network by arranging meetings, sending updates, and maintaining the network Skype chat room.

Under the direction of the Digital Communications Lead/Apprenticeship Manager, the post holder will provide day-to-day management of the Apprenticeship/L&D/Trust's social media platforms, ensuring any comments or posts are responded to, as well as checking all content is up to date and permissions are still current.

Working with members of the team to proactively add posts to social media accounts and update the Trust's social media content calendar, in line with the Trust's communications calendar.

Working with the Digital Communications Lead to review analytics and trends to increase engagement on all digital channels.

Under the direction of the Digital Communications Lead/Apprenticeship Manager, the post holder will help to explore and build new social media accounts based on current and relevant trends, as well as refreshing and improving content on current social media accounts.

Creating and deploying digital campaigns, forms, and landing pages.

Creating effective visual materials for a full range of media including print, electronic and display in adherence to NHS brand guidelines.

Arranging photo shoots to ensure the team's photo album pictorially represents the L&D team and Trust's key messages.

Supporting the team in event coordination, including the booking of rooms, catering, organising attendees and other aspects of practical support.

Providing day-to-day management of websites, ensuring websites are up to date with the latest Trust information and on brand.

Keeping a secure database of editors on all digital channels.

Updating information and creating content for pages on Sharepoint, the Trust's intranet, which are managed by the Communications Team.

Contributing to specific project and campaign plans and helping to ensure they remain on track

Managing invoices to ensure suppliers and contractors are paid in a timely manner.

Working closely with third party suppliers, providing NHS Trust advice and guidance for design projects.

Being aware of disability/deafness/ethnic minority/special needs in the team's work on events and information for the public and organising necessary external support.

Providing advice to staff members on guidelines set down by Department of Health (DH) and Solent NHS Trust for the production of literature.
