Job summary

The Building Resilience and Strength team (BRS) is Southampton's multi agency CAMHS Service and we are looking for a Service Manager with a passion for delivering outstanding quality of care to lead the next phase of our service development.

The BRS provides an integrated multi agency service to some of the most at risk and vulnerable children and young people in Southampton. The service works in very close partnership with the Specialist CAMHS and Social Work teams alongside other key partner relationships within education and third sector providers. Multi agency partnership working is strong within Southampton, and this is well demonstrated by this long standing service made up of a wide range of multi-agency professionals demonstrating the positive outcomes that are able to be achieved for young people when health, social care and education work cohesively together.

In response to the changing needs of children and families the BRS is expanding its offer to include a short stay residential unit. The unit will offer bespoke contributions to a young persons care to help manage crisis situations. We are looking for a Service Manager with the right skills, attributes and experience to take a lead in the development and mobilisation of this unit.

Acting as the strategic lead for the development, implementation and delivery of Specialist Mental Health Services through the BRS within the Child and Family service line for Southampton, the role will be responsible for establishing core care pathways and service standards. They will ensure a safe and effective patient service is provided and under the supervision and management of the Head of Service for Mental Health to manage the integrated clinical, operational, staffing and financial performance associated with the service.

Working under the supervision and management of the Head of Service for Mental Health, to act as the strategic lead for the delivery of the three core service delivery areas under the BRS portfolio -crisis care, therapeutic provision and the short stay residential unit. The role will ensure the optimisation of service delivery to children looked after and the delivery of seamless services to children and young people whose needs span across multiple agencies.

The BRS Service Manager will be responsible for the visible leadership of core staff groups through to the service line senior leadership team and line management of respective senior managers.

Using their leadership skills, they will be a visible, accessible and professionally authoritative presence, providing leadership, management and supervision.
