Our financial Management Team are responsible for the reporting and forecasting of the Trust's financial position. This involves liaising with budget managers to ensure that the finances are reflective of our service's operations and working with them to deliver sustainable financial plans for future years.

Here at Solent, we provide Primary, Community, Mental Health and Specialist Services across Hampshire and serve a population in excess of 300,000, primarily across Southampton and Portsmouth with a total annual turnover in excess of 250m.

Main duties of the job

This role will be within the finance team whose function is to provide financial advice and guidance to the organisation. The main interactions of this post will be with other members of the finance team, and various internal and external stakeholders with the aim of providing a support function to the wider finance team. The main skills required are the ability to work with and interpret large volumes of data, communicate effectively, and manage your time in order to achieve tight deadlines.

Maintenance of internal recording systems as required by Finance Managers.

Would be guided by standard operating procedures, good practice, and established precedence.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs including Mathematics
  • A willingness to undertake an AAT apprenticeship

Experience

Desirable

  • Experience of working in an accounting environment, preferably with the NHS
  • Experience of using Oracle accounting system.
  • Experience of working with and manipulating large volumes of data.
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and under pressure
