Job summary
A exciting opportunity for a band 2 clinical support developmental post on a permanent contract has become available within the paediatric emergency department at University Hospitals Birmingham.
As a clinical support worker you make a valuable and important contribution to the delivery of high quality health care within the trust.
As a band 2 development clinical support worker you will be able to work towards a band 3 healthcare assistant role when all skills and training have been completed.
Your role is to support the registered professional in the delivery of safe, effective, compassionate care to patients and their relatives.
The successful individual needs to be approachable, flexible and keen to learn.
Have a understanding of the trust values and expectations and present themselves in a professional manor at all times.
Main duties of the job
>Work effectively with the MDT in order to achieve desired outcomes that promote the wellbeing of patients
>Assist the RN's in the delivery of care to paediatric patients and their relatives
>Assist in direct clinical care such as patients observations, height and weight and urinalysis
>Ensure all care is documented appropriately
>Undertake training and practice of agreed clinical competencies
>Keep up to date with changes in clinical practice
> Work as a effective team member of the clinical team and support continued team development
>Undertake safeguarding level 3 enhanced training and to be able to recognise and report any safeguarding concerns to the nursing team.
