Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 enthusiatic nurses to join the Adult Safeguarding Team at University Hospitals Birmingham. We currently have 2 vacancies for Band 7 Safeguarding Adults Clinical Nurse Specialists to join our developing team. Both are full-time positions (Monday-Friday 8am-4pm) with one based at Good Hope Hospital, and one at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. Both posts will require Trust wide working when necessary

The team at UHB supports staff to safeguard patients, enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. Ensuring that our workforce is equipped through education, support, and advice, to recognise and respond appropriately and proportionately to abuse and neglect as a key responsibility of this role.

Reporting directly to the Named Nurses for Safeguarding Adults, the post holder will promote the Safeguarding agenda Trust wide to ensure that the Trust is compliant with The Care act (2014) and the Mental Capacity Act (2005), providing evidence through audit and review

Main duties of the job

Working as part of a team the post holder wil be responsible for the maintanance of standards in relation to safeguarding as set by Trust policies and procedures. The will act as a resource to staff when issues aroud safeguarding or mental capacity arise

The CNS is responsible for reviewing safeguarding referrals and providing in reach support and leadership in complex cases. They will liaise with partner agencies to ensure that infomration is shared apprpriately when required

The CNS will act a a resource for clinical staff in regard to Deprivation of LIberty Safeguards, sharing good practice and identifying areas requiring increased training and support

The postholder will work alongside the Named Nurses to ensure the patient voice is captured, and that learning related to pateint experience, and internal or external review is disseminated and embedded
