Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist -- Supportive and Palliative Care Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced individual to join this well-established Supportive & Palliative Care Team primarily based at Good Hope Hospital. However, the Supportive and Palliative Care CNS teams work on all sites throughout the Trust, and the post holder may be required to work and attend meetings on other sites. The supportive and Palliative Care Team offer a 7-day visiting service. Therefore, the post holder will be expected to work weekends and bank holidays.

The Supportive and Palliative Care CNS team have undergone changes regarding integration of the services across all sites. The post holder must be committed to developing these services to enhance the delivery of patient care and patient experience and you will need to be pro-active in these service developments. There are opportunities for development and education - it is expected that the successful candidates will study for a recognised palliative care nursing certificate as part of their learning.

To apply for this post, it is essential that you have:

*1st Level Related Degree or working towards.

*Evidence of specialist post basic training and education.

*Willingness to deliver and participate in teaching.

*Advanced communication skills.

*A recognised teaching qualification.

*Are Self-motivated.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as a team, to help deliver an expert specialist service to patients with palliative care needs, for those patients with life limiting illnesses. The CNS team help to care for patients at all stages of their journey and through a variety of treatments in a kind, compassionate manner. You will be committed to the delivery of high-quality holistic patient care, and you will play an active part in clinical practice, management of patient caseload, education, research, audit and professional activities relating to palliative care.

This is a 37.5 hour post worked work over 5 days
