Band 8a Energy and Sustainability Manager

Job summary

A vacancy has arisen for the key role of Energy & Sustainability Manager at a large Acute Trust. This is a lead role and the ability to work independently whilst collaborating with internal and external stake holders is key, the ideal candidate will manage energy resources efficiently and ensure compliance with all current legislation in particular EU ETS and CRC Schemes. The ability to provide written reports to finance and other end users as well as energy monitoring and targeting is essential.

The successful candidate should have knowledge and understanding of Energy Performance Contracts and Building Management Systems (BMS) along with analytical skills together with the ability to problem solve.

Main duties of the job

*Procurement of Energy & Water Services

*Manage and monitor Energy Performance Contracts provided by external providers

*Provide Monthly Utilities and Energy reports

*Complete regular Bill validation for all energy invoices

*Provide Estates Return Information Collection (ERIC)

*Appraise energy savings schemes as required

*Produce Display Energy Certificates (DECs) and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) where necessary

*Provide support and analysis for Business Cases

*Provide Support for Zero Carbon and Sustainability Projects

*Identify External funding Opportunities for Zero Carbon Projects (e.g Salix)

*Develop internal and External communications forums to promote Zero Carbon and Sustainability Agenda's .

*Identify "invest to save" projects to support the Trust Cost Improvement plans.

Experience
