Band 2 Clinical Support Worker - Critical Care

Job summary
The Clinical Support Worker (CSW) will undertake high quality, caring and compassionate personal care and associated duties under the direction and supervision of registered professionals working as part of a multi-disciplinary health and care team.
The post holder will:
*Participate in the delivery of personal patient centred care, always maintaining a compassionate and professional attitude with patients, their families and carers.
*Contributes to the service/ team organisation.
*Support registered nurses/ nursing associates and Allied Health Care professionals
(AHP's) in the provision of a caring and safe environment.
Main duties of the job
Provides and participates in the provision of physical and personal care to patients associated with the role.
Undertake person centred care associate with bathing, hygiene and dressing which may include:
Support patients and provide care to enable eating / drinking this may include:
Respond swiftly to individuals, who require assistance, are in pain or distressed or using their call bell, where required report this to a registered practitioner.
Undertake/assist with duties including the preparation of patients for treatment, investigation, transfer, discharge, procedures.
Participate in last offices which include personal care and preparation of deceased patients.
Chaperone / escort patients and act as an advocate for patients during examination by clinical staff.
Frequent requirement to stand for long periods whilst on shift
Push patients on beds/trolleys/wheelchairs throughout the hospital and within the department.
Physical ability to participate in patient handling adult, repositioning, manoeuvring, and patient movement including bathing and toileting with or without mechanical aids / hoists.
Support adults / mobility /repositioning sleeping and rest:
The post holder will need to participate in shift patterns associated with the practice setting these can vary in start /end times, duration and include working day and night shifts, weekends, and public holidays on a planned roster /rota
