The Professional Development and Education Team (PDET) are seeking a new Senior Educator for their Clinical Induction and Fundamental skills workstream.

We are looking for someone who will:

* Work within the PDE Team.

* Lead a team of Educators and Associate Educators within the Professional Development and Education Team.

* Work under the School of Nursing, AHP and Midwifery (school) you will ensure quality assurance and enhancement is at the forefront of your mind.

* Deliver and lead education within the PDE Team Portfolio and the wider School and Trust to inspire teams and drive excellence in practice.

* Lead Clinical Induction at UHB.

* Develop responsive education relating to fundamental skills required in clinical practice such as Medicines Management and Clinical Foundation Programme.

* Work alongside the School of Nursing, AHP and Midwifery, to develop multiprofessional education.

* Demonstrate strong leadership skills.

* Demonstrate excellent communication and listening skills.

* Pioneer change and adjust educational requirements in line with national and local policy.

The PDE Team and School will offer you the opportunity to develop your own skills.

This role is cross site and cross site travel is expected.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

*Lead the development of educational programmes and resources in accordance with Trust priorities and training needs analysis for multi-disciplinary staff groups

*Lead the UHB Clinical Induction programme

*Liaise and network with the subject matter experts who deliver on the Clinical Induction programme

*Provide a responsive approach to programmes of education within the fundamental skills workstream

*Identify and implement new ways of learning e.g. e learning and distance learning

*Leads the development of competency based training

*Promotes a multidisciplinary approach to learning

*Act as a clinical role model maintaining a high clinical profile by providing expert knowledge and advice in relation to the needs and care of patients

*Work clinically alongside staff to promote learning and raise standards of care

*Challenge practice and support the PDE team to find solutions to problems using practical, personal and theoretical knowledge of education and development

*Utilises appropriate change management strategies to facilitate change in the clinical environment and across the Trust as appropriate

*Work as a resource to support all grades of staff across the Trust wishing to develop their role

*Manage own diary and ensure effective time management of the team the manage

*Acts as a link with Higher Education institutes to ensure appropriate clinical support for all learners. Participate in university course curriculum planning where appropriate

  • *Registered Nurse/ Midwife on the NMC Register
  • Or
  • *Registered Operating Department Practitioner on the HCPC register
  • *Teaching Qualification e.g. ENB 998, C&G 7307,C&G 7407 parts 1 and 2, or equivalent
  • *Recognised current mentor and NVQ assessors course or equivalent
  • *Professional knowledge acquired through degree level supplemented by the completion of a relevant post registration specialist course or experience , e.g. critical care, HDU or specialist pathway pertaining to clinical area
  • *Evidence of continuous professional development

  • *PGCE
