We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated Occupational Therapist to lead the Short Stay Therapy Team at Heartlands Hospital.
It is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 or an existing Band 7 looking for a new challenge.
We are looking for a creative and dynamic team leader who can lead a team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Support Workers, supporting and maximising interdisciplinary working to enable patients to achieve their therapy goals to be discharged home.
It is essential that you have expert clinical skills, leadership qualities, alongside good communication and interpersonal skills. The post-holder must be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have excellent organisational and time management skills. You will need teaching and negotiating skills with an abundance of enthusiasm for service development.
You must be prepared to participate in our 7 day working service.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties
The candidate must be a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with recent acute setting experience.
Demonstration of significant clinical experience and substantial knowledge of an acute hospital setting, ideally in a fast paced area, enabling the candidate to manage a complex caseload of patients as well as significant experience in managing and leading others.
The candidate must have a good understanding and experience of both formal and informal training techniques, with the enthusiasm to empower others with their development. The post holder will have a clear understanding of all of the job roles and their scope of practise, to provide tailored development for all members of the team.
They must have experience of participation in service development and a practical knowledge of audit and data collection. They will also have experience of managing junior staff and deputising for the team lead.
Their excellent communication skills will be essential to support the Short Stay team, with the ability to plan and manage staff rotas, sickness, and deputise for the CTL in meetings when required.
In return you will gain excellent clinical and leadership experience. You will also develop organisational skills and service development experience.
