Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for the operational delivery of high quality Therapy services for patients within the clinical teams and to support professional leadership within Paediatric Therapy Staff, including Paediatric Physiotherapy, Paediatric Dietetics and AHP within the NNU Team.

Effectively manage all services for which they have responsibility, within available resources.

Direct the resources of the clinical teams appropriately to prioritise areas as necessary to meet the Trusts objectives.

To lead and participate in clinical activity within the clinical team as is needed to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the clinical team. Clinical activity will be determined by the post holder in conjunction with their line manager and is envisaged to be a flexible and wide ranging interpretation of the activities necessary to address the clinical needs of the patients supported by the team.

Working closely with the Therapy and Clinical Team Leads, support and facilitate staff to innovate and improve services to meet the needs of patients whilst ensuring the provision of seamless services that addresses the Sustainability Transformation Plans/Partnership of our population

Working in partnership with other Therapists to lead integrated teams and with other service providers, partners and commissioners to develop collaborative, integrated systems of work.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be professionally accountable for the maintenance of standards and professional practice as set by Trust, the NMC Code of Professional Standards. Provide expert nursing advice to a cohort of patients referred for specialist intervention, care and support within the services, being a point of contact for assessment, information and advice for the patient, family and carers and all staff involved in the care of the patients. Where working as part of a Clinical Nurse Specialist Team the post holder will assume a lead role in a sub-speciality area of practice. Support the development of staff caring for patients through support, formal education, practice development and role modelling. To work independently within their scope of clinical practice and in conjunction with other relevant clinical staff.. Use a range of techniques to ensure, set and monitor standards of clinical practice, audit, research and teaching to continually improve standards of care and patient experience. Ensure safe and effective clinical practice. Enhance patient experience. Ensure effective delivery of organisational objectives. Ensure efficient and effective use of resources, managing a devolved budget (where applicable)
