Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to join the Medical Engineering team at University Hospitals Birmingham as an apprentice medical engineer.

As an apprentice medical engineer you will be trained to work on cutting edge equipment that has a direct impact upon patient outcomes.

All training will be funded by the Trust and will include an engineering qualification, alongside on the job training in the specialist field of Medical Engineering.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will attend college on a day release basis blended with working within the department.

Once competency is confirmed the new apprentice will be servicing, repairing and calibrating a range of medical devices in a variety of clinical settings.

  • * A level in Mathematics, English and a Science subject or equivalent qualifications.
  • * Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications inc Word, Excel, Access
