Job summary
The post holder will work within the Postgraduate Office providing management and administration support for the postgraduate medical training programmes delivered by the Trust.
The Postgraduate team is responsible for the training programmes and educational support for all junior doctors in the Trust; both Doctors in Training Posts and Trust appointed Junior Specialty Doctors (JSDs). The post holder will be responsible for the coordination of all aspects of one or more specific training programmes. The post holder will work closely with the other members of the Postgraduate Medical Education team to ensure the provision of a high standard of training and support for the junior doctor workforce in the Trust.
Main duties of the job
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Programmes:
1.General Training Programme Management
*To act as a link between the Trust and HEE WM concerning all details and requirements of the training programme:
* Liaison with the Trust Medical Resourcing team with regards to all incoming junior doctors.
* Responsible for the population of the Educational and Clinical Supervisor lists from the allocation of junior doctors provided by HEE WM and Medical Resourcing checking all supervisors have appropriate GMC accreditation
* Management of the assessment process of the junior doctors including their yearly ARCP (annual review of competence progression) and/or Educational Reviews.
* Managing the specific requirements of the training programme, e.g. teaching hours, simulation training, study leave entitlement
2.To act as a point of contact for junior doctors with any queries regarding their training programme escalating to Postgraduate Manager if unable to resolve satisfactorily.
3.To manage and co-ordinate a relevant mandatory protected programme of weekly lectures and teaching including clinical skills and simulation training, for the junior doctors specific to their grade and mapped to the curriculum of the national training programme:
* Work with Clinical Tutors, Specialty Educational Leads and Consultants to assign appropriate lecturers and invite them to take part in the lecture programme.
