Band 2 Phlebotomist

Job summary

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced phlebotomists to join our Phlebotomy team at Good Hope Hospital, part of UHB NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting and varied role requiring a compassionate individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work under pressure, and basic keyboard proficiency. Successful candidates must have recent clinical experience in phlebotomy (preferably within the last six months) and will be required to complete our local training and competency assessments upon appointment.

Main duties of the job

This role requires flexibility and the ability to remain calm in a busy environment. Responsibilities include:

*Obtaining blood samples from inpatients, outpatients, and various clinics, including the Paediatric Clinic.

*Working part-time or full time, in flexible 4--5-hour shifts covering mornings for wards, as well as afternoon shifts (up to 5 pm) on a rotational basis.

Applicants must be able to work independently without direct supervision, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism while interacting with patients in a sensitive manner. A strong team ethos, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to contributing to patient care are essential.
