Job summary
Selly Oak Health Centre is looking to recruit an experienced full time and proactive Practice secretary to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will need to be a self-motivated individual and be driven to deliver efficient patient care and be able to use one's own initiative. Candidates need to have at least 1 years' experience of working in a GP practice & will be responsible for providing comprehensive secretarial and clerical support to the day-to-day operation of the practice. Experience of using EMIS web and able to use the e-referral system is essential.

Main duties of the job
Be responsible for the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS) process as required by the practice
Take responsibility of all medical/insurance forms, reports and ensuring that appropriate patient consent is provided and recorded.
Ensuring that charges are invoiced appropriately and logged and balanced at the end of each month. To monitor and maintain the fees tracker system for unpaid invoices.

The practice team works to high standards at all times in a fast friendly paced atmosphere. The team consists of 4 GP's, Practice Manager. Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse, Health Care Assistant, Social prescriber, pharmacist, practice secretary, senior administrator, and 6 receptionists\administrators.
Main Duties:
To provide secretarial support to Clinical Service Lead and their team with particular responsibility for audio typing clinic letters, discharge summaries, general copy typing correspondence, minutes and reports. To provide administrative support to the department/Clinical Team.
The post holder will provide an empathic and sensitive point of contact for patients/relatives and carers, undertaking work under the direction of the Clinical Service Lead and Practice Manager.
