Job summary

Main duties of the job

Paediatric Research Nurse -- Role Summary

As a Paediatric Research Nurse at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical research involving children. Your core responsibilities include identifying and recruiting eligible paediatric patients, obtaining informed consent from families, and accurately collecting and managing clinical data in line with study protocols and ethical standards.

Daily, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate research activities, ensure patient safety, and support families through the research process with empathy and clear communication. You will monitor participants' progress, maintain meticulous documentation, and contribute to compliance with regulatory and governance requirements.

The ideal candidate will have paediatric nursing experience and a strong interest in research. Essential skills include excellent communication and organisational abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. Compassion, patience, and professionalism are vital when engaging with children and families in often sensitive circumstances. A commitment to upholding research integrity and delivering patient-centred care is fundamental.
