We are seeking a clinically driven and passionate pharmacist to join as the Specialist Clinical Pharmacist for Surgery and Theatres. This role will facilitate the delivery of care on the Heartlands Hospital Site where you will work to develop a specialist pharmacy service with a focus on vascular surgery. This post will also support the development of junior pharmacists in this area.
You will work closely with the other Specialist Pharmacists and the pharmacy operational team to ensure day-to-day provision of the clinical pharmacy service to surgical wards and will deliver a high-quality service to the vascular directorate.

Main duties of the job
Ensure safe and effective provision of clinical pharmacy services to surgical wards, with a focus on vascular wards
Lead and develop clinical pharmacy services in vascular surgery
Manage and supervise junior pharmacists, overseeing performance, education and training and their professional development
Provide medicines financial oversight to a directorate with an opportunity to understand and develop Cost Improvement Programmes (CIP)
Contribute to clinical audits, research trials, and service evaluations and Quality Improvement Programmes (QIP)
Support education and training of pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals
You will join a specialist pharmacy team covering multiple areas to support pharmacists working closely at your base site and with the team across all sites. You will be supported by a team of more experienced pharmacists to develop.
