The Department of Clinical Allergy and Immunology are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic nurse to join their team.
We are both IQAS and QPID accredited and strive for the highest standards in our staff and service, to provide the best possible care to our patients.
The service cares for patients with immune deficiencies and allergic conditions. This new role is an opportunity to work across both elements of the service and to develop skills in the management, treatment and education of patients with both acute and long-term conditions. Full support and training will be offered to the successful candidate.
The post holder must be able to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working, to meet the changing needs of the service.
You will be a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring and maintaining excellent clinical standards. This exciting role will offer a passionate and motivated nurse a platform to develop their skills and knowledge in the area of Allergy and Immunology.
Main duties of the job
Supporting the Allergy and Immunology clinical team in assessing and treating patients and delivering high quality care. You will be expected to prepare and administer Intravenous therapies to patients with Immune deficiencies. Participate in training patients to administer treatments at home. In addition, you will undertake a range of clinical skills, including skin prick testing, cannulation and venepuncture. You will also be expected to participate, with the opportunity to lead in education sessions, audits and consultations with patients etc.

- *Evidence of post registration CPD / post registration qualification in appropriate area of speciality or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to FHEQ Level 6

- *Significant post registration experience, with evidence of passion/ enthusiasm and knowledge for the associated area of specialist practice
- *Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on-going professional development/ competence
- *Demonstrate specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and CPD relevant to speciality
- *Experience and enthusiasm for teaching/assessing and supervising others in a clinical setting
