If so, we welcome you to apply for this Full Time - Permanent 'Renal Technologist' position and join our diverse Renal Directorate that is known nationally to be progressive and dynamic in its multi-disciplinary approach.
You will be joining 'Renal Technical Services' team based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital with excellent training and development opportunities under robust supervision and appraisal systems. Coupled with the opportunity to work alongside highly specialist colleagues and integrate into a variety of specialist renal multi-disciplinary team.
You will be expected to hold a Degree/HND/HNC level in Electronic Engineering or a related subject. Previous experience of working in either Renal/Medical Engineering or an electro-mechanical service environment would be desirable for a senior Band-6 grade. Candidates with lesser or no experience but possess necessary skills/qualification would also be considered alongside for Band-5 grade as full training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
You'll be responsible for providing a wide range of technical support for haemodialysis machines, water treatment systems and other associated medical equipment across our hospital dialysis units, satellite units and home haemodialysis patients in the West Midlands area to ensure compliance to national standards and guidelines.
The successful candidate will also be required to participate in our on call rota to provide a 24hr/365day a year emergency on call service.
You will need to be able to meet the travel requirements of the post and be independently mobile and as such it is essential for you to possess a full category B car driving licence preferably clean or with no more than a maximum of 3 points.
We are seeking a self-motivated, pro-active team player who can demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills.
