The Medical Education Department is responsible for ensuring the delivery and quality management of education and training for approximately 1800 Resident Doctors (doctors in training and locally employed doctors) placed across all specialities within the Trust.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a team of 3 Postgraduate Clinical Teaching Fellows (Medical or Surgical), involved in the development and delivery of interactive teaching session for core curriculum teaching programmes for all Resident Doctors.
The post holder will support the development of a teaching VLE (virtual learning environment) and ensure all Medical Education online learning packages, including Medical Induction are up to date and evidence based. They will also be required to support the Postgraduate Medical Education teaching leads in the development of new teaching innovations.
The post holder will offer extra curriculum support via drop in clinics as well as pastoral support to the Resident Doctor workforce.
This post will offer excellent organisational and direct teaching experience at the Postgraduate level along with the opportunity to work towards a qualification in Medical Education.
This position, would be an ideal career opportunity for a doctor who has completed Core Training and is awaiting entry into a specialist training programme.
This position will work 80% of the role within Postgraduate Medical Education, and 20% of the role working within a Speciality (Clinical Environment / Department) to maintain your clinical competencies.
