Job summary
The post holder will assist in the delivery of Maternity Care Assistants' (MCA) and Maternity Support Workers' (MSW) education and development within the Trust. Working under the supervision of the Lead Midwife the post holder will assist in ensuring that the education and development needs of the MCAs and MSWs workforce are identified and addressed using approved, proven and credible methods. The post holder will be a visible role model, providing clinical support to MCAs and MSWs. The majority of the post holder's time will be spent in the clinical environment, which includes all clinical departments and clinical skills labs.
Main duties of the job
Policy and Service Development
Acts as a link with the Practice Development Team to ensure appropriate clinical support for all learners.
Presentation of innovation in Practice Development at a local level relevant to MCAs and MSWs.
Act as a role model maintaining a high profile by providing expert knowledge and advice in relation to maternity services.
To liaise with staff and MCAs/ MSWs to resolve problems and queries.
Ensure the on-going health and safety of all patients, visitors and staff taking prompt and timely action and to report, record and follow up on any accidents, incidents, hazards, risks or defects according to Trust Policy.
Promote the learning environment in all clinical areas.
