We are seeking an enthusiastic Paediatric nurse to join our Children's Medical and Surgical day case team at Heartlands Hospital.
We are keen to recruit an experienced nurse who is looking to develop their leadership and clinical skills. The post holder must demonstrate professionalism and act as a positive role model at all times, to enable successful leadership of the team.

Main duties of the job
You will form part of an established team, you will be a senior, positive role model for your colleagues, demonstrate clinical competence and effective leadership skills.
You will be responsible for coordinating shifts, managing skill mix and ensuring patient safety is prioritised, you will deputise for the senior sister, ensuring that clinical standards are maintained, and that trust policies and procedures are adhered to. You will need to be confident with or, willing to learn, how to solve problems, make decisions and escalate concerns appropriately.
You will deliver individualised, holistic care to a diverse population, acknowledging the needs of the patient and family. You must be skilled in communication so that you are able to fulfil this requirement effectively.
You will be required to utilise your organisational skills to assess patient requirements, prioritise workload, ensure care is delivered in a timely manner and support all members of the team. You should be confident in responding to emergency situations and supporting the team.
In times of low surgery activity you will be required to work on the Paediatric Assessment unit to support the nursing team this will be predominantly at Heartlands or Good Hope with advanced notice.
