Are you an experienced haematology nurse ready to take the next bold step in your career?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced haematology nurse to join our cellular therapies team based at the QE hospital.

We are looking for someone wishing to develop CNS and pathway co-ordination skills at band 6 and at band 7 depending on experience, and with lots of opportunity to develop. You will be part of a small and supportive team co-ordinating therapies and delivering CNS support to haematology patients receiving a range of treatments including autologous transplant, CAR-T, BITES and other novel therapies.

Our forward-thinking team will support you to develop clinical and management skills required for the role, to develop research and teaching skills, and to attend and present at local and national forums. You'll be welcomed into the wider haematology team and get to know our CNS and ward teams, supporting junior team members to develop their own skills and knowledge.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

Patient pathway co-ordination

Attendance at MDT

Supporting consultant clinics for new and follow up patients

Developing nurse led clinics

Delivery of SACT and cellular therapies

Delivery of education to junior team members

Patient education and support

Supporting the cellular therapies Lead Nurse to develop the service

Triaging patient phone calls

co-ordinating outpatient support and signposting advice

Communication and networking with referring centres

Essential

  • *Registered Adult / Child Nurse on the NMC Register
  • *Evidence of post registration CPD / Post registration qualification in haematology or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to degree / masters level equivalent FHEQ Level 6 /7
  • *To have or work towards advanced health assessment module
  • *Non -- Medical Prescriber/ willingness to undertake with timescale as agreed by manager

Desirable

  • *To have or working towards a MSc/ master's qualification
  • *Recognised mentorship course

  • *Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
  • *Significant years post registration experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or B6 in Bone marrow Transplant unit.
  • *Extensive experience of working autonomously at a specialist level
  • *Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on- going professional development/ competence
  • *Demonstrate expert knowledge underpinned by theory and CPD relevant to speciality
  • *Experience and enthusiasm for developing educational programmes and teaching / assessing and supervising others in a clinical setting
