Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic colleagues to join our existing team of Respiratory Medicine Consultants at Heartlands & Solihull Hospital. This is a fixed term locum appointment for 6 months to support a Respiratory SDEC based in the community. We currently have a team of Consultants with areas of special interest including but not limited to: Asthma, Interstitial Lung Disease, Cystic Fibrosis, Lung Cancer, Pleural Disease, Intensive Care, TB, Respiratory Infection, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Sleep & Ventilation.

Our department includes 2 inpatient wards and a respiratory physiology lab.

Standard job plan of 10PA, the exact job plans will be agreed with the successful candidates.

The appointees must have necessary qualifications and should either be on the Specialist Register of the GMC or be within 6 months of CCT at the time of the interview.

Main duties of the job

Clinical

Responsibilities include delivery of a respiratory same day assessment unit based in the community at Washwood Heath (Approximately 5 minute drive from Heartlands Hospital). Changes to these responsibilities and amendments to job plans will be agreed with the service lead to help with departmental priorities if required.

The post attracts 10PAs in the expectation that career grade medical staff undertake additional roles as part of their normal agreed job plan.
