Main duties of the job
Success in this role will see you taking part in a 7-day rota where you will utilise your broad experience of Gastroenterology, and be clinically responsible for outpatient and endoscopy lists, inpatient care and GI bleeding. A subspeciality interest will be encouraged and supported.
To contribute and complement the clinical delivery and development of a specialist service provision.
All aspects of GI disease complexity are welcome and can cover nutrition services, hepatology,IBD,and Bowel cancer screening.
To manage an average of 2-3 endoscopy sessions and average of 2-3 outpatient clinics per week dependant on specialist interests and job planning.
To participate in the acute gastroenterology ward rota
To participate in the management of inpatient gastroenterology services
To participate in the emergency GI Bleed service
To provide specialist advice to colleagues
To work to directorate agreed management guidelines.
