We are seeking talented, motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join the Pharmacy team at University Hospitals Birmingham and Aston University, teaching the next generation of pharmacists.
The role is spilt with 50% of the week spent working as a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist on the UHB Birmingham Heartlands Hospital site and the other 50% acting as Teacher Practitioner with Aston University involved with teaching at the University and leading/coordinating undergraduate visits at the Trust.
The post holder will work closely with the other Specialist Clinical Pharmacists and the pharmacy operational team to ensure day to day provision of the clinical pharmacy service to wards/departments. They will deliver a high-quality specialist clinical pharmacy service to selected directorates and will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of clinical pharmacy services to specific clinical areas.
Main duties of the job
The post will enable further development of your clinical leadership and educational skills. You will lead and deliver the provision of clinical pharmacy teaching and placements at Heartlands Hospital, and contribute to the delivery, development and assessment of university-based teaching for students on programmes within the Aston University School of Pharmacy, mainly relating to the Master of Pharmacy degree. You will be able to explore and engage with clinical and pedagogic research within your area of interest/expertise
Significant experience of working in a hospital pharmacy is essential, but previous teaching experience is not. Fellowship with Advance HE (FHEA) qualification if not already held
