Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our Antenatal and Newborn Screening department in an administrative capacity. This is a fixed term position for 9 months. The failsafe officer will identify screening coverage of the eligible population and ensure safety of the screening programmes. She/he will work closely with the antenatal and newborn screening co-ordinator to facilitate failsafe mechanisms to identify and also prevent missed screening opportunities and maintain an audit trail for all of the above mentioned screening programmes.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide support to the antenatal and newborn screening co-ordinators for the Antenatal and Newborn Screening programmes, working within strict departmental and national procedures with responsibility for receiving, maintaining and providing manual and electronic data containing sensitive and confidential screening information.
*Establishing and effectively managing screening databases for Antenatal and Newborn Screening ensuring that working procedures adhere to the Data Protection requirements of the IT systems used within the Trust.
*Collating and inputting patient clinical and non-clinical data and screening outcome details on to the screening database.
*Providing accurate and timely statistical screening data to the screening co-ordinators and other colleagues as required.
The postholder will be based at BHH; however, will need to be able to work flexibly according to the needs of the service.
