Job summary

Never has there been such an exciting time to specialise in education, development and training within the pharmacy profession. This role, supporting an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist -- Professional Development, Education and Training, will facilitate and develop pre and post registration pharmacy education and development.

We are seeking a pharmacist who wishes to expand their role into pharmacy education and professional development. The Pharmacy Department at UHB is progressive with a focus on supporting the development of our people. This includes the provision of undergraduate education and the expansion of our cross-sector trainee pharmacist and pre-registration pharmacy technician training programmes. Our early career pharmacists are supported to undertake the clinical diploma or RPS foundation pharmacist curriculum and prescribing. Colleagues are encouraged to undertake additional development including research internships and leadership programmes. Main duties of the job

This role will develop, deliver & evaluate education, development and training for pre- and post-qualification pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The role will suit a pharmacist with a track record of delivering a clinical role with an interest in professional development to advance the pharmacy profession. Someone who is a good collaborator and negotiator, keen to adopt novel approaches and be involved beyond the organisation in local and national initiatives.

The Specialist Pharmacist -Education, Development and Training will support and deliver pre-registration and post-registration training. This includes:

* Support for undergraduate pharmacy education delivery and placements.

* Deputise for the trainee pharmacist Educational Programme Director and act as a Designated Supervisor.

* Support the monitoring of peer support through clinical supervision.

* Support professional development for early/mid-career team members along with advanced/consultant practice.

* Roll out talent management as part of team member development and workforce planning.

* Lead, with two Specialist Pharmacy Technicians in Education, Development and Training, the development of the pharmacy technician team from apprenticeship through to higher level practice.

* Provide education and training to other professional groups within UHB.

* To undertake research around education and development within the pharmacy healthcare workforce.
