Band 8a qualified/Band 7 Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner Cardiac Surgery (Trainee must have Health Assessment and Independent prescribing qualification)
This post is open to Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a trainee or qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our team in in the Cardiac Surgery department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
The applicant will have Professional Healthcare Registration with a UK Regulatory Body
(NMC/HCPC/GPC)
The Qualified applicant will possess:
Post Graduate Qualification in Cardiac or related specific speciality or equivalent experience.
MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice
Independent Prescribing Course.
Advanced Life Support Qualification (desirable)
Recognised Teaching & Assessing/ Mentoring Qualification / Course/ Experience
Evidence of working across the four pillars of Advanced practice
The Trainee applicant will possess:
Evidence of Degree Level study / attainment ie: BSc
Qualification or equivalent Credits and be a registered student on a recognised MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice
Working towards full MSc with evidence 4 Pillars of advanced clinical practice.
Health Assessment at Master level
Independent Prescribing Course.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be part of a team of 11 q/tACPs working in Cardiac surgery.
They will undertake / supported with clinical duties ensuring a seamless patient pathway, providing pre operative and post operative management of cardiac surgical patients in collaboration with the surgical team, practical procedures, liaising with referring hospital teams, other institutions and GP's.
The team also provides out of hours care for cardiothoracic transplant patients in conjunction with the Transplant team. We have a supportive team of qualified and trainee ACPs with Consultant Surgeon supervisors.
The post holder will adhere to the Trust ACP Governance standards and procedures document.
The qualified post holder will deliver a 90% clinical component and 10% related to appraisal, clinical audit, teaching, self-development and research. This balance will be 80/20% for the trainee.
