Job summary
Applications are invited for the posts of Chief Medical Officer's Fellow, under the Trust's Terms & Conditions of Service for Junior Specialist Doctor (Standard). This is a fixed term 12 month post which will form part of the team delivering the Corporate Quality Improvement Programme across UHB Trust. This post will be responsible for giving the clinical steer required to ensure that the Corporate QI projects are developed with specialties with the necessary clinical background and detail. It will suit an individual wishing to develop skills in quality improvement, management, team working and leadership to potentially pursue a career in hospital management.
We are looking for an individual with:
*Considerable knowledge and experience of quality improvement work streams
*Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills that cut through complexity and provide insight
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including being personally credible and influential with senior stakeholders
Main duties of the job
*The post-holder will need to work with a range of individuals from different professional backgrounds and different specialties, as well as other senior members of the project team, to further the Corporate QI Programme and selected clinical governance work within the Trust.
*To ensure the development of a range of clinically designed QI project interventions that meet both the requirements of the Trust, national standards and operational and clinical requirements.
*To support the development of audit and training processes around QI project standards as required.
*To assist with clinical investigations associated with QI projects under the supervision of a senior clinician and investigations officer as part of scoping and development of the relevant QI project.
*To apply QI project standards to clinical guidelines and policies in collaboration with specialty teams and controlled documents
*To support the broader quality and clinical governance agenda as directed by the CMO and Deputy CMO.
*The postholder will be given the opportunity to participate in clinical duties (including on-call) as appropriate for their background and potential career based specialties.
*The post holder may be required to undertake other duties and/or responsibilities not specified within the job description but within the general scope of the post, as determined by the Chief Medical Officer or Chief Executive.
