Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for the position of Senior Clinical Fellow in Adult Congenital Heart Disease at The Adult Congenital Heart Disease Unit (ACHD), Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB), starting date to be confirmed. The post is fixed term for 12 months. The unit offers a supra-regional service for the management of adult congenital heart patients in the West Midlands and covers all relevant clinical sub-specialities including cardiac obstetric services, electrophysiology, devices, interventional catheter based procedures, full ACHD surgical programme, and cardiac transplantation. There is onsite advanced imaging including TTE, TOE, cardiac CT, cardiac MRI and nuclear cardiology and expertise in cardiopulmonary exercise testing. The post offers the opportunity to sub-specialise in all areas of ACHD. It is suitable for an individual who has gained their CCT or equivalent and would like to gain further experience in this field prior to consultant appointment, or for trainees wishing to pursue subspecialty training in ACHD, subject to educational approval.
Main duties of the job
The post holder's clinical duties will include 3 general ACHD clinics per week, ACHD imaging sessions, MDT meetings and ACHD in-patient care. There will be the opportunity for clinical duties to be tailored to meet the training needs of the successful candidate.
