Cardiac Anaesthesia Fellow

Job summary

Applications are invited for a Cardiac Anaesthesia Fellowship based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

Fellows in cardiac anaesthesia will have exposure to the core allied specialities relevant to cardiac anaesthesia.

Main duties of the job

Training in cardiac anaesthesia will include conventional cases such as CABG and valve replacements and more complex cases such as heart and lung transplantation, insertion of mechanical cardiac support devices and aorta surgery.

Training in transoesophageal echocardiography will also be provided.

Fellows are expected to work in the cardiac intensive care unit, where they will have training opportunities in the management of complex postoperative cases.
