We are excited to announce an opportunity that has arisen for a Band 7 Oncology/Gynaecological Clinical Nurse Specialist. If you are an experienced nurse who is passionate about supporting our female patients diagnosed with cancer and committed to delivering high quality compassionate care. Then we would like to hear from you.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, Clinical Nurse Specialist for Gynae Oncology. You will be working alongside other clinical colleagues to support the facilitation of high-quality care within the Gynae-Oncology Services.

You will be providing a specialist nursing service, offering holistic, patient centred and sensitive care to women who are being treated, or living with and beyond cancer.

As the clinical nurse specialist you will provide a high-quality nursing service for patients with Gynaecological cancers. You will act as a clinical expert and professional resource within the multi- professional team, patients, and carers for the Gynaecology-oncology service.

You will be involved in seeing new patients in clinic and supporting them through Radiotherapy, Brachytherapy and SACT as well as follow up clinics. Supporting medical and clinical gynaecological/oncology patients in the inpatient areas as well.

You will provide a direct line telephone contact service for patients with gynae malignancies and their family members offering on-going advice, information, and support.

Main duties of the job

Qualifications and Professional Training essential

NMC Registration.

Specialist training and experience to supplement degree.

Non medical prescribing qualification or commitment to undertake.

Knowledge and experience essential

Experience in communication skills in very emotive situations.

Experience of autonomous working.

Ability to manage and prioritise own workload.

Evidence of ongoing CPD.

Band 6 experience within chemotherapy and cancer.

Desirable

Experience within the designated speciality.

Degree level education.

Knowledge of SACT.

Knowledge of radiotherapy and Brachytherapy.

Skills and Abilities essential

Clinical assessment skills module at minimum of degree level or equivalent or commitment to undertake.

Plans delivery of specialist nursing care.

Coordinates multi-disciplinary activities within speciality service.

Provides high level of speciality advice.
