Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join an established Patient Safety Team at UHB at this time of exciting change as we continue our transition into PSIRF. You will require commitment, passion and motivation to support the team playing a lead role in the delivery and development of quality reporting systems and processes. You will be required to maintain databases and produce reports on behalf of the Patient Safety Team. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of patient safety and quality improvement education. The post holder will manage the provision of a high quality, confidential and comprehensive administrative support to the Patient Safety Lead, and Safety Learning Manager in the delivery of processes, engagement events and training to promote patient safety across the Trust. To succeed in this role you will need vision and excellent interpersonal skills to enable you to work with varying levels of managers, clinicians and administrative colleagues with the support of the wider team. You will need to demonstrate excellent time management skills as you will need to balance the demands of a very busy workload.

Main duties of the job
To contribute to the UHB Safety Strategy by supporting staff engagement events,
communication and promotional material for patient safety.
To undertake regular visits to wards and departments to advise and support their
implementation of patient safety improvement projects.
To work autonomously in the absence of the Patient Safety Lead, planning, prioritising, organising and implementing own workload / tasks. Working on own initiative to prepare background information, collate information into reports, produce statistics and create and manage databases as required.
Provide a high quality administrative function for the Patient Safety Team.
Co-ordinates a range of complex events, activities and programmes for the patient
safety team, including liaising with internal individuals, analysing information and
producing, spread sheets, reports and presentations for distribution to the relevant
committees, and Clinical Governance and Patient Safety Department.
Collates complex clinical statistics and data to support the production of relevant
reports, graphs to support quality improvement initiatives.
Provides expertise in data collection, extraction, processing and interpretation.
Uses own judgement/initiative to problem solve, make decisions and take actions on a range of data to resolve problems as they arise
Contribute to the design, co-ordination and delivery of safety teaching programmes for nursing staff, HCA's and other relevant professional groups.
