Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to take on the role of Ward Clerk Team Leader based at Good Hope Hospital. This role will help support the Ward Clerks under the line management of the Patient Administration department - Health Informatics.
The post holder will be required to operationally line manage a group of Ward Clerks ensuring compliance with national and local standards. The role will consist of a strong emphasis on data quality, effective teamwork and a keen focus on the Trusts Vision and Values.
In addition to line managing Ward Clerks you will also be expected to undertake inpatient ward clerk duties on the ward as and when required to cover sickness and other absences. This is a fundamental part of the role alongside the Band 4 duties.
The post holder will be required to undertake a significant amount of HR work, including conducting appraisals, organising staff rotas, completing return to work interviews and dealing with any day to day queries from the Ward Clerks.
You will also be expected to travel across to the other sites as and when required.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will ideally have ward clerking experience, but this is not essential. Ideally you will also have experience of leading a team and possess exceptional motivational and organisational skills. You will need to be flexible in order to support the demands of the role and be able to provide support and guidance to the ward clerks on a daily basis.
You will be proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook and Word and will be able to demonstrate the commitment and drive needed to continuously improve ward clerking processes and inpatient data quality.
