Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a locum consultant to join the Dermatology department at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Solihull and Good Hope Hospital sites for 6 months maternity cover, with an opportunity to potentially extend for a further 6 months. This 6PA post will comprise medical dermatology and skin cancer clinics and a surgical session. The ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team is essential.
The department of dermatology at Solihull, Good Hope and Heartlands Hospitals is the largest department of dermatology in the Midlands and one of the busiest specialist dermatology departments in the United Kingdom. We serve a local, regional and supra-regional referral base commensurate with the comprehensive range of subspecialty expertise and clinics offered. Specialised services include the NCG-funded highly specialised service for Epidermolysis Bullosa, psychodermatology service, regional Mohs micrographic surgery service, a regional complex tertiary patch testing service, complex medical dermatology, genital skin disease, paediatric dermatology and teledermatology services.

Post holders will undertake medical dermatology and 2 week wait skin cancer clinics including teledermatology triage and cutaneous surgery lists.
The post holder will join the weekly specialist skin cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings. We also hold monthly complex cases MDTs with dermatopathology review
