We have a workforce of 24,000 colleagues across our four main hospital locations; Good Hope, Solihull, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Birmingham Heartlands and our community teams, who collectively deliver the very best care to 1.8 million residents across Birmingham and Solihull. Our workforce community is rich in its diversity, and we attract colleagues from all over the world. We are proud of its association with University of Birmingham and the Armed forces - providing honouree and trainee contracts to colleagues across the Trust.

Our Occupational Health department has had a rapid expansion in its scope and team strength with some excellent new appointments recently including the Director of Occupational Health and Wellbeing. We now wish to build up on this with further expansion of the team through an opportunity to recruit a Locum Occupational Health Physician (OHP) as we continue to work towards becoming a Centre of Excellence for Occupational Health regionally and nationally.

Main duties of the job

Professionally you will work to support strategic plans for a progressive and responsive service across the Trust. Our priority continues to be a focused, safe, efficient and effective service.

It takes an exceptional leader to engage and inspire staff to ensure that the very best practices are introduced and implemented. Your experience in complex Occupational health cases, along with your clinical skills and understanding of Clinical Governance and Quality will support you greatly in your role of Locum OH Consultant.

You together with our colleagues will be the beacons for our next generation of Doctors looking to qualify in OH. You will be approachable, responsive, and encouraging of colleagues who seek your counsel and act as required.

For this post we are able to full time hours (10 PAs). We are happy to discuss alternative working hours and support a wide range of flexible working options that best supports you and the team.
