We are looking for an Education and Training Lead to join us at the Central and South Genomics Team to lead on the development, implementation and delivery of multi professional training and education programmes in line with GMS (Genomics Medicine Service) priorities.
Who are we and what do we do?
The NHS Genomic Medicine Service aims to enable the NHS to harness the power of genomic technology and science to improve the health of our population and deliver on the commitments in the NHS Long Term Plan. These commitments will be delivered by the NHS Genomic Medicine Service for England which will provide:
* Consistent and equitable care for the country's 55 million people.
* Operate to common national standards, specifications and protocols.
* Deliver a single national genomic test directory covering use of all technologies from target genomic testing to whole genome sequencing.
* Give all patients an opportunity to participate in research for their individual benefit and to inform future care for other patients.
* Build a national genomic knowledge base to provide real world data to inform academic and industry research and development.

Main duties of the job
The Education and Training lead will:
*Lead on the development, implementation and delivery of multi professional training and education programmes in line with local and national Genomics Medicine Service priorities.
*Lead on development, implementation and delivery of education and training programmes to support the embedding of genomics across the Central and South geography.
*Lead on the training and education for the Generation Research Study
*Promote genomics education and learning in all areas of practice ensuring that genomics is recognised as an important component of healthcare.
*Promote the genomic learning environment to ensure educational needs are met.
*Be a credible and knowledgeable professional who promotes innovation and up to date evidence-based practice.
*Collaborate with relevant teams to support the delivery of education and functional deployment strategies.
*Continually evaluate and assess impact of educational programmes to improve future programmes.
We are looking for a proactive team player who has;
*Significant experience working in an education and training role or recent significant experience working at a senior level in an acute clinical area for the NHS/healthcare setting.
*Understanding and evidence of experience in practice-based supervision and assessment
*Experience of creating and delivering education programmes
