Gynaecology Consultants - 2 x Full-time posts on a 12-month fixed term basis
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology service at Birmingham Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull is one of the largest services in the UK and is part of the Birmingham Local Maternity System which also includes Birmingham Women's & Children's Hospital.
We are seeking to appoint two Consultants in Gynaecology for an initial fixed term period of 12 months to commence as soon as possible. There are 10 programmed activities: 9 direct clinical care and 1 supporting professional activities. SPAs can be adjusted to fit MDT and governance working if needed as part of the Job Plan.
The post holder will have a key role in the Gynaecology service. It would be desirable if the applicants had a special interest in outpatient Hysteroscopy, Colposcopy, gynaecology oncology or urogynaecology.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join a highly skilled and supportive Gynaecology multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will work closely with the Clinical Service Leads for Gynaecology to provide safe care and meet national and local safety and performance indicators.
The Trust is committed to delivering the highest quality obstetric and gynaecological services to large, diverse communities across Birmingham, Solihull, and Sutton Coldfield. The obstetric service delivers 10,000 women per year and works collaboratively with a multi professional team, medical specialities, and intensivists to deliver a range of specialist services. There is a commensurate large gynaecology workload with different sub-specialties including urogynaecology, fertility, gynaecological cancer, and early pregnancy loss.
Our services are based across our three hospital sites with their own bespoke treatment areas, where we see referrals of approximately 30,000 patients per year.
The post holder must possess Membership of the Royal college of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (or equivalent) and be on the GMC specialist register with full GMC registration.
