Job summary

We are looking for a hard-working Deputy Head of Procurement to join our growing award-winning team based at offices in Regent Court- Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Working within the Birmingham and Solihull Procurement Collaborative (BSOL PC) team hosted by UHB, you will be responsible for providing dedicated procurement support to all Trusts of which BSOL PC are responsible for.

The objective of the role is to identify, develop and deliver credible work plans and cost improvement programmes at both Trust and Integrated Care Board (ICB) level for the Corporate functions. Whilst ensuring all procurement activity is undertaken in accordance with public procurement legislation and Trust standing financial instructions.

You will need to be a skilled negotiator who is confident influencing and working with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Your ability to drive value for money and deliver solutions is key to the role. You will establish, develop and maintain relationships between Operational Leads and Senior Finance Managers and provide regular updates on project progress.

Guided by your leadership and people management skills, your team across multiple Corporate categories will work collaboratively to utilise initiative and share knowledge that feeds into the ICB/Trust/Department strategy. You should inspire a motivated team of Corporate Category Managers that are clear about their personal development and category strategy to deliver efficiency and cost improvement programmes.

  • *Full Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) qualification or evidence of working towards, or relevant / equivalent experience

Desirable

  • *Educated to degree level
  • *Project Management qualification e.g. Prince2
