Job summary

Due to the promotion of the current post holder we have a rare opportunity for an experienced pharmacy technician/pharmacist to develop their career at a senior level by joining our pharmacy team.

We are seeking an Operational Site Lead with a strong background in operational management, quality improvement and innovation for our Good Hope Site, which is a c535 bed hospital located in Sutton Coldfield.

As a member of the Senior Pharmacy Leadership Team, you will actively contribute to and shape the strategic planning of the service, including innovative pharmacy and medicines systems that help achieve the trust's aspirations.

You will be supported in your role by a Deputy Pharmacy Operations Manager, Pharmacy Clinical Site Lead and Specialist Pharmacy Technicians; along with the Pharmacy Operations and Performance Managers based at our three other sites.

If you have experience of operational management and service delivery and possess good leadership and communication skills then we can offer you a stimulating and fulfilling role, with support from an established and experienced senior team. Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for leading on the development, planning / implementation and evaluation of performance and business strategies, policies and standards for pharmacy services to ensure the delivery of excellent pharmacy practice and the best use of resources. With a strong focus on quality improvement and effective operational management. You will progress the development of leading-edge pharmacy services for our patients.

University Hospitals Birmingham has developed its own electronic prescribing system which is now is operation across all of our sites; with a full suite of reports to support you in delivering your role, such as consecutive missed dose reports. The department is supported by an Informatics Lead in the Trust Informatics Team and an in-house team of pharmacy system experts.

This is a unique opportunity for a senior role to manage one of our key sites in the largest teaching hospital within the Midlands.
