Job summary

An opportunity for a substantive Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia has arisen This is following the departure of one of our existing consultants. The successful candidate will be expected to work within a fully multidisciplinary environment involving clinic work, procedural lists and input for in-patient referrals.

The appointee will be expected to participate in the Divisional and Departmental audit programme, as well as in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

Main duties of the job

The core component of this replacement position is to work as a Consultant in Pain Medicine as an integral member of the Multi-disciplinary Team working with our other dedicated consultants, senior nursing staff, psychologists and physiotherapy team.

The post holder must understand the significant ongoing changes in the Trust's services and be prepared to take an active part in the change programme.

There are a total of 10 PAs within the job which will be split between pain management and Anaesthetics. Please see Section 8 of this job description for further details on conditions of service, including job planned PAs. The successful candidate will be invited to discuss these options with the Clinical Service Lead and Medical Director on appointment.
