Job summary
We are looking for a conscientious individual to join our busy admin team who will work closely with our community district nursing teams who provide exceptional care and support to patients in their homes. There are a number of areas of care and services that we provide in the community and a good understanding of this would be desirable. We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, with advanced IT skills, it is essential that the successful candidate has good communication skills and an excellent telephone manner as they will be the first point of contact for patients/relative/ healthcare professionals in to the service. NHS experience would be beneficial with a good understanding of patient care, pathways and confidentiality. It is important that individual is caring and compassionate and is able to act in line with the trust values. You must be able to cope in a busy environment and cope well with a variable workload.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be required to work 5 days a week on either a 8-4 or 11-7 shift the working week will include Saturday and Sunday. You will be the first point of contact to GP, hospitals, patients and relatives in to the service. You will be required to use patient admin systems and microsoft packages. You will need to work as a team to ensure that the works is completed on a daily basis. You will be required to liaise with management and nursing teams around patient care plans and visits. You will communicate with the wider admin team, offer support and cross cover where necessary. You will be required to ensure training needs are being met and up to date. You will be required to act on urgent information received and take the appropriate actions to support the service users.
