Job summary

An exciting opportunity has come up to join a fast paced Housekeeping department, supporting the clinical teams on the Solihull Hospital Site, and delivering the best possible care for all of our patients and service users.

If you are a caring and enthusiastic team player, then this could be the right position for you. You will work within a fast paced addapting team, meeting the demands of the site patient flow and supporting the needs of the clinical environment.

As a Housekeeping assistant you will be responsible to ensure that the hospital site meets the highest cleaning standards required, and that the general site is kept looking clean and safe for the service users. You will be responsible for cleaning all ward areas, and departemntal areas of the site, including the theatre areas of the site.

Main duties of the job

Cleaning all areas of the Solihull Hospital site to meet the high standards required by the NHS Natioanl cleaning Standards.

This will include, all Wards, Departments, Theatres and communal areas. we will be responsible for delivering a meal service at lunchtime and in the evening time. the staff will be fully trained in using all equipment such as floor poloshing machines and Hydrogenperoxide streimisting machines.

Essential

  • * Basic Education to GCSE level -- including Maths and English qualifications
  • * Trained or willingness to undertake training in a competence qualification in cleaning, infection control and / or support service by an awarding body, NVQ or equivalent.
  • * Heartlands, Solihull and Heartlands Hospital Only: -
  • * Willingness to achieve Level 2 Cleaning qualification or equivalent (e.g. National Vocational Qualification NVQ or certificated British Institute of Cleaning Science qualification (BICs)
  • * Solihull and Heartlands Hospital Only : - Certified in or a willingness to achieve Level 2 Supervising Food Safety in Catering
