WE ARE LOOKING FOR A MOTIVATED, ENTUASTIC AND INSPIRINGG paediatrics Nursing Associate. We are a vibrant and energic Nursing team and we are looking for you to COME AND join our nursing team.
You will be managing the care of sick children who present to our newly purpose-built department, ensuring the department is safe and escalating any concerns to the Nurse in charge.
Working independently but as a part of a close-knit team, maintaining excellent communication skills at all times.
We work closely with the multi-Disciplinary team and the Safe Guarding Team ensuring we mitigate and escalate any safe guarding concerns.
We have an exciting opportunity to develop your own career and have will be working closely with the Clinical Educator to enhance and develop your skills.
Main duties of the job
*Take personal responsibility for delivering high standards of person centred care
*Ensure all patients and colleagues are treated with dignity, respect and compassion at all times, being mindful of issues of culture, religion etc.
*Assist in the identification of hazards and risks to actively promote the health and safety of patients and staff within the clinical area.
*Develop skills, knowledge and competence in the ongoing holistic assessment and recording of patient's health and wellbeing. Perform patient assessments, plan and deliver excellent standards of care under supervision and after appropriate delegation from a registered
practitioner.
*Measure, monitor and record patient's vital signs. Reporting adverse signs/result immediately to a registered practitioner or Doctor.
*Assist in checking pain levels and request pain relieving medication on the patient's behalf.
*Ensure the safe transfer and movement of patients through the clinical area. Escorting patients in line with Trust Escort policy.
*Use and promote a range of techniques to support infection, prevention and control in line with Trust policy.
*Receive and process specimens as requested. These may include; urine, swabs, blood and tissue.
*Under supervision, provide a comprehensive and concise handover to other members of the multi-professional team.
*Assist with emergency situations including basic cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in accordance with policy.

- *Maths and English Level 2 Qualification ( Equivalent to GCSE Grade C or above )
- *Care certificate completion or evidence of training related to health care support worker role
- *Foundation Degree or Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care undertaken whilst training to be an Assistant Practitioner
- *NMC Registered Nursing Associate

- *Can evidence a range of clinical competencies achieved during training related to the speciality / practice setting
- * Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- *Insight into how to evaluate own strengths & development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
- *Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities
- *Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of the workload and individual patient contact
- *Understanding of the scope of the role of the Theatre Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
