Band 3 Gynaecology Cancer Coordinator

Job summary

The Gynaecology Service at UHB receives approximately 5,000 referrals a year for people who are suspected of having cancer. This post is vital to improve access for these people to access our services within the agreed national timeframes.

The sucsessfull candidate will work as part of a team of Consultant Gynaecologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, MDT co-ordinators and other administrators; providing comprehensive administration / co-ordination support.

The primary focus of this post is to ensure patients receive timely appointments and track all patients through the Faster Diagnosis pathway.

Main duties of the job

*Review and monitor the cancer 2ww and Faster Diagnosis targets

*Analyse and extract complex data sets from a number of different sources

*Make decisions and take actions within the team relating to routine enquiries, whilst receiving support and supervision

*Recognise situations that should be referred onto the Supervisor/Line Manager and take prompt and appropriate action

*Liaise with staff and service users and external agencies to provide a point of contact for service users

*Liaise with other departments / teams as appropriate

*Deal effectively with complaints either face to face or on the telephone and escalate concerns where necessary
