Job summary
Are you looking for your next step into Project Management? The West Midlands Academic Health Science Network (WMAHSN) are currently recruiting for two Band 7 Project Managers to join the team.
The WMAHSN is one of 15 AHSNs set up with the aim of spreading innovation at pace and scale across the healthcare system, to improve health and generate economic growth. The WMAHSN is structured into four divisions; Innovation and Commercial, Patient Safety Collaborative, Implementation and Adoption and Corporate. We deliver a range of innovative projects on behalf of our Commissioners, NHS England and the Office for Life Sciences.
As an Innovation Project Manager, you will be supporting the adoption and spread of innovation within NHS organisations. You will be working with commissioners, providers, clinicians, patient groups and others to understand local and regional issues, share learning from NHS organisations that have already implemented the innovation(s), and understand the impact of adoption.
You will work under the supervision of a Senior Project Manager within the Implementation and Adoption team.
The core requirement for the Innovation Project Manager is to provide operational oversight to WMAHSN supported implementation and adoption activities and to be responsible for a portfolio of local and/or national projects in varied clinical areas such as:
-Cardiovascular Disease
-Mental Health
-Medicines Optimisation
-Wound Care
-Innovative Technologies
Main duties of the job
*Provide day-to-day operational support to ensure the delivery of effective project management and administrative support to facilitate the implementation and adoption of innovation.
*Liaise closely with internal and external partners in the delivery of the projects to ensure timely achievement of key milestones.
*Develop and maintain an activity database of the project/s activity. Analyse data collected and generate metrics as required by relevant stakeholders.
*Monitor progress of projects to ensure compliance with objectives and proposed outputs including the quality and timeliness of data collection.
*Plan and coordinate the effective and timely completion of all associated ethics and governance for any project.
*Ensure all project management documents are regularly updated and reflect accurately the status of any project.
*Support the running of projects and be able to produce reports and up to date information on the outputs to all relevant Partners.
*Lead on specific issues and prepare / deliver presentations and reports.
*Ensure that all project plans and key milestones are met and reported on regularly as per Standard Operating Procedures.
*Ensure all project work is scoped, set up and initiated in compliance with AHSN and NHS standards.
*Organise, record, monitor, and schedule all project work activities relating to the relevant project(s).
*Produce detailed management information including statistical analysis, operational metrics, and individual reports.
